As part of the West Reading Playground renovation, the final touch was a mural that celebrated the history of West Reading and the site. The mural was not only fabricated by the Public Art Workshop, but also the West Reading Elementary Students.

About the Project
The design for the mural centers on the tree, a symbol of knowledge and growth. Surrounding the tree is a montage of historic photos that feature youth. The building pictured in the mural is the old West Reading Elementary School that stood on the site of the playground.
Many community painting events gave over a hundred people the opportunity to help make the artwork.
