A flock of Cedar Waxwings sweeps across this long West Reading wall, connecting a busy commercial neighborhood with the native wildlife of Berks County. The social nature of the birds made them a fitting subject for a place filled with people moving along nearby Penn Avenue.

About the Project
The project was developed with input from Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center and painted by Public Art students and staff. The wide wall allowed the birds to travel through a stylized forest landscape, and the project also became a hands-on activity at an education conference. Look closely and you may spot the birdwatcher hidden within the scene.
